BenchCalcs is published and operated by Andromeda Kinship. Andromeda Kinship is responsible for editorial decisions, calculator code, source selection, corrections, and commercial relationships on this site. Articles use the BenchCalcs organization as their author because the work is reviewed and maintained as a site operation.

BenchCalcs does not present that organization-level byline as a substitute for a licensed engineer, code official, financial adviser, contractor, or other qualified professional. The site does not invent personal biographies or credentials. Each tool states important limits, and its output remains a reference estimate unless the page explicitly says otherwise.

How sources are selected and reviewed

Where a calculation depends on an external fact, the preferred evidence is the most direct suitable source: a government publication or dataset, an adopted standard or official guidance, a manufacturer technical document, or a clearly identified industry reference. Cost models may compare multiple public pricing guides because there is no single authoritative national price for a local project.

Review includes checking that the cited source supports the value or rule actually used, recording the model-review date, and explaining material assumptions or exclusions on the relevant page. The data sources and licensing page identifies the primary regulatory, technical, and licensing-sensitive references used across the site. A citation does not imply that its publisher endorses BenchCalcs.

How calculations are tested

Each calculator keeps its calculation logic in a testable TypeScript module. Automated tests exercise expected outputs, boundary conditions, and important thresholds. Before release, the site is also built and type-checked, then audited for internal links, structured data, accessibility basics, source freshness, and performance budgets.

Tests show that the published code behaves as specified; they cannot know every site condition, local amendment, market price, or individual circumstance. Readers should verify regulated, safety-sensitive, or high-cost decisions against current local requirements and qualified professional advice.

Updates and freshness

BenchCalcs uses scheduled checks to flag stale model-review dates and unavailable authoritative source links. A versioned source record that passes six months without review is escalated for attention. Material corrections, source changes, model revisions, or explanatory updates move the relevant modification record through the same reviewed release process.

The site does not change an “updated” date merely because a page was rebuilt or because a calendar date changed. A visible model-review date represents the oldest relied-on input through which the complete model was reviewed. The separate structured-data modification date represents a meaningful change to the page, code, or one of its inputs.

Corrections

Report a suspected error to [email protected]. Include the page, the inputs you used, the result you expected, and the reference supporting that expectation. That makes the report reproducible and reduces the chance of replacing one error with another.

Substantiated corrections are checked against the relevant source, reflected in calculation or content tests where appropriate, and passed through the normal release gate. A correction date is recorded only when the published material changes. Questions about source rights can use the same address or the details on the contact page.

AI-assisted drafts require human review

Drafting tools, including generative AI, may help organize an outline or propose wording. An automated workflow may prepare a draft pull request, but it cannot merge or deploy that content. Before publication, a human operator must review the factual claims, calculations, citations, originality, practical limits, and fit with the site's calculator library. Unsupported text is revised or rejected.

Commercial independence

Advertising, affiliate links, and service referrals may support the site's operation, but compensation does not change calculator formulas or results. Commercial links are placed in separately identified areas, and payment does not guarantee favorable coverage. Sources are selected for their relevance to the calculation, not because they compensate the site.
